Hi all! Today I'm here to share with you my favorite tip for photographing small items. This includes things like books for bookstagram, funko pops, enamel pins, and of course, jewelry!
My number one (and easiest) tip is to invest in some scrapbook paper pads. I like the 12 inch by 12 inch size that you can often find on sale at paper craft stores.
Why scrapbook paper pads, and not loose sheets? Pads come as a bound book or coordinated colors and patterns. It makes creating a theme on your Instagram feed super easy, since all the backgrounds are pre-coordinated for you! They are also easily mixed and matched, so you can do a 50/50 split with two pieces of the paper for an extra fun background.
If you keep your pages bound in your pad and do not tear them out, it turns your paper pad into a mini white reflector for your photos too. It makes it easy to bounce light back onto the items you are photographing.
The scrapbook paper is such a fun way to add cool backgrounds to your photos! There is a huge variety of paper available if you start looking.
I also love using scrapbook paper for my pin boards to give them a colorful background. Here is one of my Marvel pin boards. Isn't that rainbow swirl so fun?
I hope you found this easy tip helpful! Follow me on Instagram for more small business tips. I'm always happy to share.
